Supplies for 9th Grade

Below is a list of supplies that you need for 9th Grade.  Please note that you will be using common supplies for ALL of your classes.   In other words, you will have ONE binder for all of your classes.  If for any reason, you are unable to obtain these supplies, please contact us.  

1. YOUR SUPPLIES FOR CLASS: 

  • 1 Looseleaf Binder (Minimum 3-inch thickness preferred; NO TRAPPER KEEPERS! NO COMPOSITION NOTEBOOKS!) 
  • Looseleaf paper (minimum of 250-350 sheets)
  • 4 Folders
  • 2 packages subject dividers 
  • 1-2 pens
  • Highlighter
  • Post-it-Notes


You must bring the above supplies to class everyday. 


2. Classroom supplies: In addition to your own personal supplies, all 9th-grade students are responsible for bringing in the following: 


  • 1 package of Looseleaf Paper (250-400 sheets; 8.5"x11")
  • 2 packages of Pens (Blue or Black ONLY)
  • 1 package of Washable Markers 
These supplies will be collected in your US History Classes.  You are responsible for having ALL of your supplies by MONDAY SEPTEMBER 8th, 2014

Setting Up Your Discovery Education Account

Hello, WJPS'ers:

In order to complete some of our assignments, you will need to access the Discovery Education website.  You will need to set up in account in order to do so.  


To quote 90's hip-hop star Montell Jordan, "This is How We Do It"

1. Go to the Discovery Education website by CLICKING HERE
2. Go to "Passcode/New Users."  It's located in the RIGHT-HAND CORNER OF THE PAGE
3. Enter the following log-in code 4FDD 8022
4. Follow the prompts to set up an account.  Please use  your WJPS e-mail, First Initial and Last name to set up your account.  For example - EManning, MSanchez, DJeter.  
5. Please use "WJPS2013" as your password.

First Day of School Checklist

Listed below are the requirements you are expected to meet by the first day of school.

1.  Complete all summer assignments by their due dates.  CLICK HERE FOR THE LIST OF SUMMER ASSIGNMENTS
2. Obtain all of the supplies for your classes!  CLICK HERE FOR THE LIST OF SUPPLIES 
3.  Review the student contract of behavior with your parents.  Both you and your parents must sign the contract, and you must bring it to school on the first day.  CLICK HERE FOR THE LINK TO THE CONTRACT.  Please note that you must have the contract with you on the first day of school. 
4.  Arrive to school in the appropriate school uniform.  For WJPS Freshmen, the expected uniform is: 
  • Appropriately fitted (and worn) Khaki Pants or Khaki Shorts
  • WJPS Polo or Button-Down Shirt 
    • Although not required, it would be preferred if the polo or button-down shirt is tucked in, and a belt is worn. 
We are looking forward to a great school year, which will only be possible if we are all on the same page.

Food Festival

You must bring in a food dish that serves between 6-8 people. You can also bring in paper good such as plates, napkins, cutlery, etc. We also need soda nd soft drinks.
You must bring in something to earn a ticket to the festival.
Each prepared dish must include the name of the dish (for example Baked Ziti) and a complete list of all the ingredients.
